The slope allows direct access from the lower level to the back yard terrace and garden. The design incorporates stepped building forms which break down the massing and dovetail with the sloped land. Horizontal building elements articulate the facades. Siding and local limestone comprise the exterior building materials. The roof is a low slope roof which further articulates the horizontality of the overall house design.

The main level has an open plan living room, dining area, kitchen, and sunroom. The master bedroom and bathroom suite adjoins the living room area. Support spaces include a powder room, laundry room, mud room, and garage. The lower level is accessed from the main entry foyer by an open stair.
