Woodland House
Bloomington, IN
The Woodland House is tucked in the woods where two deep ravines meet. The design responds to the dramatic setting with its tall windows, sloped roofs, and open decks to the north and east. Exterior building materials combine local quarried limestone, weathering Corten steel panels, and pre-finished metal siding. The limestone chimney integrates the exterior with the interior serving as a focal point for the living room and main stair. The open plan design capitalizes on views to the outdoors and engagement with the stunning landscape. The main level includes a large entry foyer, living/dining/kitchen area, laundry room, powder room, master bedroom suite, and garage. The lower level opens to the woods to the east and includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, family room, two offices, and a utility/storage room.
